Housed2Home

Inside the homes

Comfortable housing means you stop bracing for the next thing.

These are the rooms in the Housed2Home residences. Nothing staged and nothing fancy — just what a decent home looks like, which is exactly what we are trying to give a veteran who has been through a rough stretch.

What living here is actually like.

Your own room

A private bedroom with a bed, a place for your things, and a door that closes. After sleeping somewhere you had to keep one eye open, a room of your own does more than it sounds like it does.

Shared the way a home is shared

Kitchen, living room, laundry, porch. Everyone who lives there shares them, and everyone pitches in on keeping them decent. That is how a house stays comfortable.

Clean, quiet, and safe

We keep our homes clean and we keep them calm. No chaos, no coming and going at all hours, nobody bringing trouble to the door. You should be able to rest.

In San Antonio, on real streets

Our homes sit in ordinary residential neighborhoods in San Antonio. A lawn, a walkway, a front door, neighbors. It is not a facility and it does not look like one.

What we do not claim to be

We are not a hospital, a treatment program, or a shelter. We do not provide clinical care or counseling ourselves. What we provide is a safe, comfortable house to live in — and if you need something beyond that, we will help you find the people who do it well and we will stay on it with you until it is handled.

The two questions we hear first

What it costs

Every veteran’s situation is different, so we do not put a number on this page. We work out cost with you individually, based on your circumstances and your finances — and we will tell you plainly what that looks like before you decide anything.

Come see it first

If you would like, you can tour the house before you decide. We would be glad to show you around — walk through the rooms, see the street it is on, and ask us anything you want to ask.

Want to know what is open right now?

Availability changes, and we would rather tell you the truth on a phone call than guess at it on a web page. Ask us directly.

And if you would like to see a house for yourself first, just say so when you call — you are welcome to come tour it before you decide.
